Kitchen Renovation in KL and Selangor
Wet works, wiring, tiling and our own custom cabinets, handled by one contractor from demolition to handover.
A kitchen renovation is not a cabinet job with extra steps. The cabinets are the part you see; the part that decides whether the kitchen still works in five years is the wet works, the wiring and the tiling underneath them. We do the whole job, with our own carpentry workshop in Batu Caves building the cabinets and our own team handling everything the cabinets sit on.

What a full kitchen renovation covers
Every kitchen is different, but the sequence is nearly always the same. This is what “full kitchen renovation” means when we quote it:
- Demolition and disposal. Old cabinets, worktop, tiles and any partition wall you want gone, cleared and carted away.
- Wet works. Plumbing relocation if the sink or washing machine moves, waterproofing where needed, cement rendering for a clean wall.
- Electrical. New power points where the appliances will actually be, lighting points, an isolator for the hob and oven.
- Tiling. Floor and backsplash. We work to the tile you choose and we cut around the cabinet layout, not the other way round.
- Ceiling. Plaster ceiling or a simple cornice if the old one is stained, sagging, or hiding wiring that should not be there.
- Custom cabinets. Base and wall units, tall units and pantry, all built in our workshop from plywood with laminate finish, delivered and installed by our own carpenters.
- Worktop and sink. Quartz or solid surface fitted after the cabinets are in, so the joints land where they should.
Wet works, electrical and tiling are done as part of a full renovation like this. We do not take them on as standalone jobs, because a plumber working around someone else’s cabinets is how leaks end up behind a kickboard.
How a kitchen job runs
From the first message to handover, a typical kitchen takes five to seven weeks. Most of that is fabrication time in the workshop, not days you spend without a kitchen.
- Free estimate in chat. Send the rough size and a photo. You get a realistic range from our rate card, usually the same day.
- Site visit and detailed quotation, RM500. We measure, check the plumbing and electrical, and confirm what the wall can carry. You get an itemised written quotation. The RM500 comes off the contract if you go ahead. It is paid before the visit to confirm the slot.
- Confirmation and deposit. 60% on confirmation. Laminate colour, hardware and layout are locked at this point, and we produce shop drawings for the workshop.
- Site works. Demolition, wet works, electrical, tiling and ceiling. This is usually one to two weeks, and it is the only stretch where the kitchen is out of action.
- Fabrication. Cabinets are built in Batu Caves while the site dries and cures. Two to three weeks.
- Installation. Cabinets in, worktop templated and fitted, sink and hob connected. Two to four days.
- Handover. Walk-through together, snag list closed, balance settled. Workmanship warranty runs for a year from here.
What it costs
The cabinetry is the part we can price from a rate card, and we publish the rates because guessing wastes everyone’s time. Every rate below includes delivery and installation.

So a 10 foot straight-run kitchen with top and bottom cabinets starts around RM6,750 for the carpentry, and the same run with a quartz top sits nearer RM8,500. An island is always its own line because it is finished on all four sides. Premium laminates, sliding doors, LED lighting and branded soft-close hardware push a kitchen toward the upper end.
Wet works, electrical, tiling and ceiling depend on the state of the existing kitchen and the tile you pick, so we quote those after the site visit rather than publishing a number that would be wrong for half the kitchens we see. The written quotation puts every trade on its own line so you can see exactly what is carpentry and what is not.
Where we work
We are based in Batu Caves and cover Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Kitchens we are quoting this season are in Ampang, Kepong, Cheras, Kajang, Batu Caves, Pandan Indah, Kota Damansara, Desa ParkCity, Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya. If you are further out, ask. Semenyih and Klang are a normal drive for us; Seremban is a conversation.
What we build with
Carcasses are plywood, not particleboard, because a kitchen in Malaysian humidity needs to survive a leak under the sink without swelling. Finishes are laminate. Hinges and drawer runners are soft-close as standard. We do not use veneer on kitchens; it looks lovely for two years and then the steam finds it.
Bathrooms and the rest of the house
If the kitchen is part of a bigger job, we handle the whole house. Bathrooms, bedrooms with built-in wardrobes, a TV feature wall, the study. Bathrooms specifically we take on inside a full-home renovation, where the same wet-works team is already on site. We do not do standalone bathroom renovations.
Common questions
Can we stay in the house during the renovation?
Usually yes. The noisy, dusty part is the one to two weeks of site works. After that the kitchen is a construction zone but the rest of the house is livable. Plan on eating out or cooking on a portable hob for those two weeks.
Do you handle the wet works and wiring, or do I need my own contractor?
We handle them as part of the renovation. One contractor, one quotation, one person to call. We do not take wet works or wiring as separate jobs on their own.
How long does a kitchen renovation take?
Five to seven weeks from confirmation to handover for a typical kitchen, of which one to two weeks is actual site disruption. Festive seasons and unusual tiles can stretch that, and we tell you upfront if they will.
Is the RM500 site visit fee refundable?
It comes off your contract in full if you proceed with us, so the visit costs nothing if you go ahead. It is not refunded if you decide not to proceed, since the measuring and quotation work has been done. Chat estimates before that are free.
Do I need council approval for a kitchen renovation?
Not for cabinets, tiling or rewiring inside your own unit. You do if you are knocking down a structural wall or changing the external facade. Condos will want a renovation deposit and a permit from management, which we help you fill in.
Can you match a design I saw online?
Send it over. We will tell you honestly which parts translate to plywood and laminate at a sensible price and which parts are a showroom photo that does not survive a real cooking kitchen.
