Good kitchen cabinet design starts with how you actually cook and store, then works back to the layout, finishes and hardware. Below are the layouts and material choices we build most often for homes across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, every one made to measure in full plywood.
Popular kitchen cabinet layouts
- L-shaped : the most common Malaysian layout; two runs along a corner, great for open-plan condos.
- U-shaped : three runs of cabinets for maximum storage and worktop, ideal for keen cooks.
- Galley / straight-line : a single or parallel run for narrow kitchens and apartments.
- Island : a freestanding unit for prep, seating or extra storage in larger kitchens.
- Wet & dry kitchen : a dry cabinet run inside plus a heavy-cooking wet kitchen at the back.
Finishes & materials
- Full plywood carcass : moisture-resistant and far more durable than particle board in our climate.
- Laminate : the widest range of colours and wood-grains at a friendly price.
- 2S / PU spray : a smooth, seamless painted look for modern kitchens.
- Acrylic & high-gloss : a bright, reflective finish for a premium feel.
- Quartz or solid-surface tops : hard-wearing worktops that resist heat and stains.
Design details that matter
Soft-close hinges and drawers, tall pull-out units for narrow gaps, built-in bins, corner carousels, and lighting under wall units all make a kitchen easier to live with. We plan these around your appliances and habits before a single board is cut.
Rough price guide
Custom kitchen cabinets start from about RM450 per running foot (bottom), with tops and quartz priced separately, confirmed after a site measurement and a detailed written quotation (RM500, deducted if you proceed). We quote the whole kitchen as one clear figure.
