Custom Shoe Cabinets in Malaysia
Tall shoe cabinets, low shoe benches and hallway storage in plywood and laminate, built in our Batu Caves workshop and installed across the Klang Valley.
A custom shoe cabinet from The M Renovation is a shallow plywood cabinet built to your entrance, finished in laminate, priced from RM810 per foot of width for a full-height cabinet and from RM380 per foot for a low shoe bench, delivery and installation included.
The entrance is the most cramped storage problem in a Malaysian home: a narrow strip of wall by the door, thirty pairs of shoes, and no depth to spare. A built cabinet is shallower than a wardrobe, uses the full height, and can carry a bench, a mirror and a spot for keys in the same unit.
Types we build
- Full-height shoe cabinet. Floor to ceiling, 300 to 350 mm deep, with angled or flat shelves. The most pairs per foot of wall.
- Low shoe bench. Seat height, with shelves or drawers below and a cushion on top if you want one.
- Combined entrance unit. A tall cabinet, a bench and an open shelf for keys and post in one run, often with a mirror panel.
- Hallway storage wall. Deeper cabinets for vacuum cleaners, luggage and the things with no other home, as at Alix Residences.
How much does a shoe cabinet cost?
A shoe cabinet is priced like a wardrobe, less a deduction for the shallower depth, because the doors and the labour do not shrink with the depth. Delivery and installation are included.

A 4-foot full-height shoe cabinet is about RM3,240; a 4-foot bench about RM1,520. Angled shelves, a mirror door, LED and ventilation slots add to that.
Ventilation and shelves
Shoes need air. We cut ventilation slots or use louvred doors on closed cabinets, and set shelves at 150 mm spacing for flats and 300 mm for boots, adjustable so you can change it. Angled shelves show the shoes; flat shelves hold more. Tell us how many pairs and we plan the split.
How a job runs
- Send the wall width, the ceiling height and a photo of the entrance. We reply on WhatsApp with a price range.
- Site measurement. We measure, agree the layout and finish, and send a written quotation. RM500, deducted if you proceed.
- Fabrication. Built in our Batu Caves workshop, three to five weeks from confirmation.
- Installation. Our own team delivers, fits and clears up.
Questions we get asked
How many pairs fit per foot?
On flat shelves at 150 mm spacing, roughly 12 to 14 pairs per foot of width in a 9-foot cabinet.
Can the cabinet be shallower than 300 mm?
Yes, down to about 200 mm with shoes stored on the angle. Fewer pairs, but it fits a narrow corridor.
Will it smell?
Not if it breathes. Slots or louvres and the occasional open door do the job.
How long does it take?
Three to five weeks after the site measurement. Installation time depends on the size of the job and is confirmed in your quotation.
